Student Life . Student Services . Tutoring

Tutoring is available free of charge to all CIA students for Liberal Arts classes. In addition to course-specific material, students can receive help with note taking, term paper preparation, test-taking strategies, and other study skills through one-on-one peer tutoring.

Tutoring is offered through the Writing + Learning Center, which students can use on a walk-in basis for assistance with writing and editing term papers.

Tutoring Program

The Tutoring Program is set up to serve you in different ways according to your individual needs. Whether that means a quick run through of a paper or study sessions throughout the semester, there is a tutoring plan that will work for you.

What can I get tutoring for?

You can receive tutoring for any liberal arts class.

Where do I go to get a tutor?

To be referred to a tutor based on your specific needs, stop by the Academic Services Office and talk with Jill Milenski. You also can drop by the Writing and Learning Center during designated hours or schedule an online appointment.

Who are the tutors?

The tutors are students who have been referred by faculty as outstanding students in Liberal Arts courses. They are paid peer tutors who have been trained to work with students who want to develop academic skills and specific projects.

When do I have to see my tutor?

Once you’re assigned a tutor, you and your tutor will meet in the Writing and Learning Center during your tutor’s regularly scheduled hours.
