Writing + Learning Center

The Writing + Learning Center is a resource open to all CIA students. We provide responsive one-on-one support as you build your own creative process, critical thinking, communication, and agency as an artist, designer, and learner.

Students often visit us to work on course assignments, writing practices, personal projects, studying, managing time, or navigating software and learning platforms — whatever you're working on, we're ready to collaborate.

Drop by our space on campus or schedule a one-on-one meeting anytime — see my.cia.edu/writingcenter for more info. When you meet with one of our student and faculty team, you'll receive generative conversation, feedback, and guidance tailored to your specific goal, project, or question.

Students working with peer consultants in the Writing + Learning Center

Our center is staffed by collaborative student consultants and administered by Alyssa Perry, Writing + Learning Center Coordinator and Assistant Professor in Liberal Arts.

We offer:

  • responsive support on academic, professional, and creative projects
  • coaching for skills such as time management, studying, navigating software, and notetaking
  • three quiet-study rooms for students to use

Students can come by Room 103 during drop-in hours or make a appointment in advance. See my.cia.edu/writingcenter to book time. To set up a recurring meeting time with one of us, such as for course-specific tutoring, students can write to Coordinator Alyssa Perry at arperry@cia.edu.
