Add event to my calendar

Rhythm in Craft is a culmination of the work of the last three Jewelry + Metals and Glass majors at the Cleveland Institute of Art: Jewelry + Metals juniors Lake Gowman and Zack Dunbar and Glass junior Annie O'Brien.

Although the work each artist creates is vastly different, the pieces are united by the expression of rhythm. Rhythm is inherent to their crafts as they develop their skills in timing the movement of their pieces, whether it be the striking of a hammer or the shaping of glass. Through these processes, making pieces becomes a musical performance.

Rhythm in Craft will be on view March 15–27 in the Ann and Norman Roulet Student + Alumni Gallery. An artists reception will be held from 5 to 7pm Friday, March 22.

CIA's Jewelry + Metals program and Glass program, along with its Ceramics program, became part of the College's Craft + Design major beginning in the 2022–23 academic year.
