HOW GREEN WAS MY VALLEY

United States | 1941 | John Ford

HOW GREEN WAS MY VALLEY film still

The film that beat Citizen Kane for 1941’s Best Picture Oscar is also a masterpiece—and one of the great John Ford’s greatest movies. Spanning 50 turbulent years in the life of a Welsh coal-mining family at the turn of the 20th century, this nostalgic, moving drama stars Walter Pidgeon, Maureen O’Hara, Donald Crisp, and a young Roddy McDowall. Sunday's show will be introduced by film scholar Grafton Nunes, former President + CEO of the Cleveland Institute of Art. DCP. 118 min.
