MUCH ADO ABOUT DYING

Ireland, United Kingdom | 2022 | Simon Chambers

MUCH ADO ABOUT DYING film still

Veteran documentary filmmaker Simon Chambers spends five years caring for and filming his elderly, eccentric gay Uncle David, a retired actor who lives in a cluttered, squalid, mouse-infested house in London, where he constantly declaims Shakespeare. Uncle David is dying, but this lonely old bohemian refuses to go gentle into that good night—a spectacle both entertaining and exasperating. “A thought-provoking study of what it means to live.” –Screen Int’l. Cleveland premiere. DCP. 84 min.
